In its latest inititave, Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies has prepared a study on exporting pomegranate products in Halabja province and submitted it to the decision-making centers in the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The research includes all stages of picking, transportation, storage, packaging, and export, and has identified the countries that can export pomegranates from Halabja province, including Gulf and European countries.

The study was submitted to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region in early October 2025 and is anticipated to be forwarded to the Ministry of Agriculture, Halabja Province, and other pertinent stakeholders shortly thereafter.

The proposed roadmap in the study aims to enhance the production capabilities of local pomegranate farmers and outlines significant initiatives for repurposing nonexportable products within the local food industry.
