Formulating a thorough and comprehensive plan, restoring values to the educational system, reforming curricula, and placing greater emphasis on the mother tongue in educational institutions were the core themes of the focus group held by Vision foundation and Strategic Studies.

On Monday, October 12, 2026, Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies hosted its second focus group dedicated to the education sector. The session brought together a group of experts, specialists, educational supervisors, trainers, school principals, teachers, and educators, aiming to devise a comprehensive roadmap that serves all dimensions of education.

During the session, participants addressed key challenges facing the education sector, such as the absence of an organized educational system, disparities between public and private school curricula, differing educational systems across institutions in the Kurdistan Region, assessing past and current conditions to set a future roadmap, and safeguarding the rights of educational staff in the private sector.

The laws and regulations of the Ministry of Education were also reviewed, with participants sharing their feedback and insights. Additionally, the discussions focused on reinforcing values and a sense of belonging among individuals as vital roles of educational institutions.

Creating an enabling learning environment and providing adequate support for extracurricular subjects like sports and the arts were highlighted as well.

Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies will compile and publish the insights and outcomes of this focus group in the form of policy papers and academic studies, submitting them to relevant authorities to help establish a practical roadmap for addressing the challenges within the education sector.
