Another open eye program was announced at Vision Foundation for Strategic Studies, the problems facing the agricultural sector were presented and discussed, and several steps were presented as solutions.
The program was announced today Wednesday, 1/4/2026 in an open discussion in the presence of a significant number of agricultural experts, academics and journalists, entitled (Development Agricultural sector between government planning and private sector investment).
At the beginning of the program, (Shallow Jama), Director General of Agriculture of Sulaimani presented a report on the agricultural sector, talked about the reasons for the delay and weakening of the agricultural sector and pointed out that the government One after another, they have promised to solve the agricultural sector, but have failed to implement it.
He said that the agricultural sector in the past three decades has been at a poor level. He identified several problems that have caused delay of development of this important sector and stressed that the reverse of this Most of the problems of the agricultural sector will be solved.
The problems identified as the reasons for the weakening of the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region are:
- Failure to manage and solve the problem of land ownership
- Lack of financial support
-Lack of use of advanced agricultural equipment
-Problems in selling and marketing products
At the conclusion of the “Open Eye” program, a set of recommendations and proposals will be prepared in light of the views of experts and specialists in the field of agriculture, and will be directed to the government and relevant authorities.
